In March 2026 we were living on Koh Samui in Thailand. March is usually one of the hottest and sunniest months of the year, but this time the weather surprised us with frequent rains and strong winds. Still, there were plenty of bright, hot days in between, so the island kept its usual tropical rhythm.

Rental prices in 2026 turned out to be much higher than we expected. For example, the house we rented cost 18,000 THB per month, while in previous years similar places were around 12,000 THB. The island is getting more popular, and the prices definitely reflect that.
This year we also upgraded our video gear and decided to focus on creating higher‑quality travel videos. Let me show you a few of them.
— In this one we tested our new prime lens, but it ended up becoming a full mini‑tour of several districts of Samui. It starts at Lamai Beach, then moves to the quiet beach near Laem Sor Pagoda, includes the pagoda itself, and finishes in a mangrove forest. I’ve lived on Samui for more than 15 years, and somehow I had never seen that mangrove area before!
The next video captures a calm morning and sunrise at beautiful Chaweng Beach. It’s a 45‑minute walk along the shoreline with no talking, no music—just the sound of waves and the rhythm of the island waking up. This kind of video is perfect for anyone who wants to feel the atmosphere of Samui without distractions: soft light, empty beach, and the slow transition from night to day:
The last video is a short clip from one of the best viewpoints in Chaweng — the Khao Hua Jook Pagoda. From up there you get a full panoramic view of the entire Chaweng area: the coastline, the lake, the turquoise sea, and even the airport with planes taking off and landing right below you. It’s a peaceful spot that combines temple architecture with one of the most impressive lookouts on the island.
